Assignment 4: Port Processing game to Eclipse

Response: Web | Mac | Linux | Win

Thoughts on assignment:

Overall the porting from Processing to Eclipse seemed straight forward. It was great to see and realize how Processing tries to hide all the tidbits and nuances of programming that developers have come to terms with. Processing was designed as a “gateway” programming language to ease beginners and artists into the realm of programming, so it’s understandable why it’s trying to cover what developers deal with. I have to admit, it has tripped me up once or twice. I learned how to program in Java, so when you assume it has to work one way, Processing tell you it works another. But that’s the beauty of programming languages: they all have their quirks.
