
Broil an LED
This post is a response to an exercise in the book “Make: Electronics”.
In this exercise, an LED is broiled. The purpose is to explain that if the wrong soldering iron is used, electronic components can be damaged. A good way to prevent damage is by using heat-sinks when soldering components together.
Since I have destroyed couple of LEDs in a previous project. (Stupid Pet Trick), I decided to waive the experiment, but still read the experiment’s background, tools, and theory sections.
